Adat Chaverim was founded in 2000 as a non-theistic community that promotes humanism, pluralism, inclusion, and cultural vitality.

We seek to strengthen connections to the best of our heritage, celebrating Jewish holidays and events with contemporary meaning and modern relevance. Our members are diverse, coming from many different backgrounds, and include agnostics, atheists, secularists, intercultural and LGBT families and individuals. We welcome non-Jewish spouses and partners as full members of our community and encourage you to share in our celebrations and educational programs.

Interfaith & intercultural couples and families are welcomed unconditionally.
Some Jews see intermarriage, intercultural partners, and the children of those couplings, as a negative - even lamentable - development. But, we at Adat Chaverim see this as a wonderful development - a widening of Jewish growth and an expansion of both Jewish and non-Jewish life!

Humanism through a Jewish Lens
As humanists we affirm that reason, rather than faith, is the source of truth, and that human intelligence and experience are capable of guiding our lives. As Jews we express these convictions through the culture and practices that have evolved over centuries of Jewish history.

Our Secular Jewish Identity
Humanistic Jews understand Judaism as the civilization, ethical values, and shared fate of the Jewish people. Encompassing many languages and a vast body of literature, art, dance, music, and food, Judaism is much more than a set of religious beliefs and practices. It is the cumulative cultural and historical experience of the Jewish people.

Our Jewish Values and Practice
We strive to put our values into practice through a commitment to social justice, healing the planet, and supporting the cause of the oppressed, the disenfranchised, and the suffering.

Our Community
As human beings, we need one another to celebrate our joys, to endure our sorrows, and to become partners together in making the world a better place for all people. Adat Chaverim Congregation provides a warm and supportive environment in which to share in these common goals and purposes.
